Job Description About SUEZ in North America SUEZ in North America operates across all 50 states and Canada with 6,700 employees dedicated to environmental sustainability and smart and sustainable resource management. The company provides drinking water, wastewater and waste collection service to 6.4 million people on a daily basis; treats over 600 million gallons of water and over 450 million gallons of wastewater each day; delivers water treatment and advanced network solutions to 16,000 industrial and municipal sites; processes 55,000 tons of waste for recycling; and rehabilitates and maintains water assets for more than 4,000 municipal and industrial customers. The company is a subsidiary of Paris-based SUEZ.   Responsible for the management of the Gardner, MA project including full understanding of Service Agreements, and the safe and efficient delivery of all contract deliverables and obligations regarding the water treatment, wastewater treatment and wastewater pumping stations. Scope of Gardner utility infrastructure under management by SUEZ includes the Wastewater Treatment Facility, 10 wastewater lift stations, and city owned sludge landfill, Crystal Lake Raw Water Reservoir, Crystal Lake membrane Water Treatment plant, Snake Pond Well and the Snake Pond Greensand Treatment facility. Areas of responsibility include: 1) Environmental Health and Safety; 2) Strategic management of the operation, maintenance and repair of treatment plant and pump station equipment in accordance with the Service Agreements; 3) Workforce development and management of departmental managers, supervisors and non-union workforce; 4) Relationship with the client, client staff, and other stakeholders; 5) Community Outreach and Community Involvement to promote the company brand and; 6) Preparation of annual operating budgets, forecasting and monthly financialreporting. The Project Manager will also ensure compliance to all regulating agencies including environmental, reporting, and water quality. RequiredSkills Considerable knowledge of the practices and equipment associated with the construction, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants, municipal sludge landfill operations and wastewater pumping stations. Excellent working knowledge in wastewater treatment methods, collection system operations and municipal sludge disposallandfill operations. Excellent working knowledge of water treatment processes including membrane treatment and processes for removal of manganese and iron. Excellent managerial abilities and a strong aptitude for planning, organizing, scheduling, assigning and evaluating the work of subordinates. Ability to develop, organize, and manage records and reports pertinent to the activities supervised. Leadership skill and considerable knowledge of effective supervisory methods and practices including team-building and conflict management. Good understanding of business financial methods and practices, ability to develop budgets, analyze financialreports and implement budgetary controls. Utility accounting and financial statements Engineering principles as related to water treatment, wastewater treatment and pump station, and landfill facilities.   Contract management and Client relations Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Computer proficiency. Experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications is required. Thorough knowledge of health and safety standards and precautions pertaining to utilities operations and maintenance procedures. Ability to organize, implement, effectively manage and engage operation and maintenance staff in health and safety programs and training.. Proficiency in the ability to review, provide operator perspective and written comments on designs and plans for small to medium size construction and capital improvement projects. Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with other employees, subordinates, the client and other public groups. RequiredExperience Ten (10) years of related work experience preferably in a wastewater, water or public works environment. A minimum of five (5) years must be of mid to high-level utility management experience supervising, training and directing a workforce of various disciplines. A minimum or 2 years' experience in budgeting and expenditure control for a department or small facility Associates' degree in Science, Engineering, Management or related field, Bachelor's degree in a technical or a related field is preferred. A combination of education and work experience in the right environment may be considered. Licenses/Certification Possession of either: An active MA Grade 7 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification or ability to obtain such certification within 1 year. An active MA 4T Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification or ability to obtain such certification within 1 year. Certification as a Water Treatment and a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator highly desirable. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
